Walkersville Elementary School Restricted Enrollment

Frederick County Public Schools this week announced schools that will be restricted for out of district transfers. Walkersville Elementary School will be the only school in the Glade Valley area restricted. In all, fifteen schools will be restricted.  The restrictions come when a school’s population will be at or over 100% capacity. The school system projects that Walkersville Elementary School’s population will be 666 students. The school’s rated capacity is 662 students.  When school opens in August 2015, Walkersville Elementary School will be at 101% capacity. As a result, no students…

School Calendar Reminders for September

School students are now all back in the classroom.  As August ends, Frederick County Public Schools remind families of students that there will be a number of scheduled school closings and an early dismissal in September.  The following dates should be noted: Monday, September 1, 2014: Schools and Office Closed for Labor Day Friday, September 19, 2014: Schools Closed for Fair Day Wednesday, September 24, 2014: 2-Hour Early Dismissal for Teacher Mid-Term Work Session Thursday, September 25, 2014: Schools Closed for Rosh Hashanah.
