Glade Valley Community Services Holiday Toy Shoppe is gearing up again this year to help provide a wonderful Christmas to many less fortunate children in our community. Last year the Holiday Toy Shoppe provided new clothes, toys and books to 148 children and gift cards and books to 61 teens. This program is supported by the generosity of the churches, schools, businesses and individuals in our community. Glade Valley Community Services announces the 2016 Holiday Toy Shoppe registrations during the month of October. The Distribution Day (shopping/pick up!) is Wednesday, December 7th. The Holiday Toy Shoppe program is sponsored by GVCS. This is a community-wide outreach effort to help families needing assistance in providing a better Holiday/Christmas for their children than might otherwise be possible due to financial constraints. Glade Elementary School hopes to Spread the Warmth to more than two-hundred Glade Valley children this winter. They ask for help reaching this goal by asking the community to donate all types of clean, gently-used coats. Donors may place donations in the labeled box in the Glade Elementary School’s lobby during regular school hours October 30th – November 25th, at STEM Night on November 12th, or during Parent Teacher Conferences on November 24th and November 25th.
