The New Midway and Woodsboro Elementary Schools hope to fight a common ailment that leads to students missing school.  Dental care remains the greatest unmet health need among children in the United States of America.  In fact, over fifty percent of children have a cavity.  The pain of a cavity distracts from learning and leads to children missing valuable instruction time. Free Flu Vaccination for Kids

The Frederick County Health Department (FCHD) will again offer free flu vaccines for children aged six month through 17 years old.  The vaccines will be administered by appointment on the following dates: Saturday, October 4th from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. Wednesday, October 8 from 5:30 p.m. – 7 p.m., and Friday, October 10 from 5:30 p.m. – 7 p.m. These flu clinics will be held at the Frederick County Health Department at 350 Montevue Lane in Frederick, Maryland.  Appointements can be made at or by calling 1-877-419-3409.
