New Midway and Woodsboro Elementary Schools Smile Program
The New Midway and Woodsboro Elementary Schools hope to fight a common ailment that leads to students missing school. Dental care remains the greatest unmet health need among children in the United States of America. In fact, over fifty percent of children have a cavity. The pain of a cavity distracts from learning and leads to children missing valuable instruction time.
So, the school cluster will offer an in-school dentist visit for children who have not seen a dentist this year. If students regularly see a dentist, they should continue having that dentist provide services. The In-School Dentist will provide care for those who do not regulary see a dentist and have not seen the in-school dentist this year.
Enrollment forms will be sent home with students of the two schools this week. Forms must be filled out completely and returned to the schools. If parents or guardians have questions, they should contact Mrs. Cox at 240-236-3700.
