Sixteen Year Old on Skateboard Struck and Killed by Truck in Walkersville

A sixteen year old Walkersville High School student died Sunday night after being struck by a pickup truck while riding a skateboard in Walkersville.

Maryland State Police report that Jaggar Ezra Lawson was riding his skateboard westbound on Devilbiss Bridge Road at Heritage Farm Park Road when he was struck by a pickup truck, also travelling westbound on Devilbiss Bridge Road. The truck was driven by Austin James Shipe, an eighteen year old resident of Walkersville.

Maryland State Police responded to a 911 call at approximately 9:12 p.m. on Sunday night about a collision involving a pedestrian and a 2005 Ford pickup truck.

Emergency responders transported Mr. Lawson to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
