Late 2017, early 2018 is when the new Walkersville Library is opening. 15,000 square foot facility will offer an expanded collection of books, plenty of parking, and a comfortable space to better the needs of the community. Adding into the new library is a new one stop service desk, library will also, include a large community meeting room and quiet study rooms and a STEM lab, with a teen section. People are very excited about the new library that is coming to us groundbreaking on March 13, 2018 and is to be finished within 14 to 18 months. The new library will be located at 2 South Glade Rd, and people are looking forward to the new library.
When the new library comes into conversation, people are excited for the fun new kinds of books since kids and adults love to read. That is just one reason why they come to the library. They also may just wish to escape from a long day of work or a long day of school for the children who love to read.
For children, it’s very important for them to read on a daily basis as reading improves their knowledge and strengthens their minds, as well make them more intelligent such as saying what there favorite book is. “My favorite book is My Little Pony because I watch episodes at home on my TV. . . and my favorite characters of the show are Applejack, Twilight, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow dash [is] my favorite horses,” commented child at the Walkersville Library Grace Eakor-tah.
Kids just really love to read and have imagination which is great. Adults also love to read. “My favorite book[s] [are] The Boxcar Children and The Tree Grows in Brooklyn,” commented staff member of Walkersville Library Deb Sperrir, which were her favorite literary pieces assigned to her from her favorite teachers growing up.
Change is really good for the new library, which has been around for 29 years. “We will have more space to put the books and more computers for the people to enjoy, and have a workspace for people to come inside which is very nice to have,” said staff member of Walkersville Library Kim Quick. “Also, [I am] very excited for the new library because it will give new opportunities for others that need a job and for more new books to read,” suggested patron at Walkersville Library Karen Willicot.
“We people that like to read really needed this because Frederick is a small county and for people to just come together in one space is thrilling for people to bring their children to see their eyes light up when they get a book,” said patron at Walkersville library Matthew Smith.
It will be very cool to read some brand new books in 2018.
