Memories of The Great Frederick Fair
This year is the 175th opening of The Great Frederick Fair. Although the people in my generation have not been around to see all one hundred and fifty seven Great Frederick Fairs most people tend to go back every year. The Great Frederick Fair has been around for a long time and many people have turned it into a tradition to go with family or friends every year.
After interviewing multiple students at Walkersville High School, I have come to the conclusion that the ferris wheel is one of the most popular rides at the Great Frederick Fair. During an interview with 11th grader Chace Scott, he said he enjoys the ferris wheel because it’s not too crazy but still enjoyable. Most people love the ferris wheel because it’s something you can do with your friends that dont enjoy crazy spins and fast rides. Also a popular attraction with the ferris wheel is taking pictures at the very top. Many riders of the ferris when enjoy taking pictures of the beautiful lights that can be seen from the top of the ride.
During an interview with 11th grader Christian Corrado he said that his favorite ride was the drop shot. The drop shot is a ride where you are lifted high in the air and then dropped very fast but stopped before hitting the ground. The drop shot is a main attraction at the fair because of the crazy adrenaline rush you get at the end.
The Great Fredrick Fair has many things that attract people every year. The Great Fredrick Fair has lost of animals, rides, food and is always a great time for everyone. Because of all the fun activities at the Great Frederick Fair many family members and friends have made it a tradition to continue to come back every year.
