Liberty Road Accident with Entrapment
At 10:33 a.m. on July 21, 2015, Walkersville Volunteer Fire and Rescue Companies responded to a vehicle accident with entrapment in the area of the 9200 block of Liberty Road.
Chief-11-1 arrived on the scene to find two vehicles involved; one vehicle was in a field with one patient still in the car.
Engine 111 arrived on the scene to pull a handline for protection from fluids. Rescue Squad 24 arrived on the scene soon after. The crews went to work stabilizing the vehicle and removing the patient. Engine 152 was in the area at the time, and they assisted Rescue Squad 24 crew.
Command soon requested one more Basic Life Support unit. Ambulance 29 arrived on the scene to start with patient care for the other patient.
All patients were transported to Frederick Memorial Hospital. Command was terminated and units went in service as ready.
