Kyle Daggett, the Friendly Football Giant, Weighs Offers to Play Division 1 Football

After playing football for 11 years, the hard work has payed off for 6’6” senior Kyle Daggett. Daggett just recently received a full ride scholarship to play D1 football at Saint Francis College in Loretto, Pennsylvania.
Daggett has been playing football ever since he was six years old. Daggett said, “my parents made me play a sport in each season; I cried a lot at first but eventually it became fun.”
Most high school students would find it hard to balance school and sports, but Daggett mentioned “it’s not really that difficult to balance, AP classes are always tough but there’s a lot of time after practice and on weekends to get stuff done.” Daggett later said, “I think it will be really tough doing both [playing a sport and focusing on college], but I am definitely up for the challenge. I’ve always been dedicated to my academics.”
When asked what Daggett loves about football, he answered, “scoring touchdowns and winning games; that stuff is fun. Most of all though, the brotherhood and commitment that our team has is pretty special and fun to be a part of.”
Daggett really liked the campus when he visited Saint Francis and also liked what they had to offer. Saint Francis D1 AA school, this means that they play other D1 schools but are much smaller and give out less scholarships which makes it harder to get a full ride, but that was not an issue for Daggett. Daggett wishes to study Physical Therapy next year at college because he loves sports and helping others.
¨It’s still somewhat early in the season, so I think I’m going to wait a little to make a decision, but I like what they have to offer,¨ said Daggett.
Senior and good friend Jake Parson said, ¨I think he should weigh out his options; we are only five games into the season and he could get more offers.¨
Daggett’s close friends are giving him the support and encouragement he needs in order to make his final decision. Senior Clay Barndollar said, ¨Kyle and I have been friends since our time in GVAA; we have known each other for a long time. I think he deserves the scholarship for all the hard work he has put in these past years! I’m excited to see what he can do at the next level of play!¨
