Korean War Veterans Memorial Gift to Fund

Representatives from the Korean War Veterans Memorial, Inc. presented a $10,000 gift to The Col. William E. Weber Chapter 142 Korean War Veterans Association of Frederick County, Maryland, Fund.

The fund, one of more than 700 funds managed by The Community Foundation of Frederick County, provides scholarships to students who are direct bloodline descendants of those who served in the United States military and who are eligible for Korean War Veterans Association membership.

Since the fund’s inception in 2003, more than $32,000 in scholarships have been provided.

Representing the Korean War Veterans Memorial are Frederick L. Becker, Jr., commander (left) and Charles L. Chipley, Jr., treasurer (center). Accepting the gift is Dr. Rachel Mandel, Community Foundation trustee.
