WHS Lions Pride Original Story:

by Jonathen Bowersox

Yesterday the Walkersville girls lacrosse team face the Liberty Lions at home where it didn’t go as planned with the score being 11-22 in favor of Liberty.

Many of the girls scored goals with  junior Jenna Molnar leading them in goals scored. Molnar said “ even though it was hard lost I still think we played pretty good and I am happy that I helped my team even though the score didn’t reflect it”

Liberty took a quick lead in the first half with score being 6-0 but Walkerville was able to come back and end the first half 11-10 still favoring Liberty. Junior Keren Ott said  “ I was shocked and proud of my team that we were able to stay in the game all the way till halftime cause the Liberty Lions were known to be a really good team but too bad we could hang with them though the second half”

The girl’s record is now eight and three including last night’s loss. But the guy’s lacrosse had some luck last night with a close win against the guys Liberty team. The score of their game was 6-5 in favor of Walkersville.

Besides the luck of the guy’s the girls still suffered a tough loss. “ I am happy for the guys and their win but I still think our team could have done better and we could have played more like a team in order to make the score a little bit closer and have it be not as bad” said sophomore Sarah Guyton.

Besides Molnar’s great goals many other people scored as well such as sophomore Maddie Holley having two, senior Morgan Jernigan having one, sophomore Makenzie Pope having one and more.

Even though this was a tough loss for the girls they need to get over this and focus on their next game which is Middletown today.
