Gardner Presents First Annual Report and Comprehensive Annual Financial Statement
During her weekly public information briefing, County Executive Jan Gardner presented her first annual report for Frederick County Government. The Charter for Frederick County, Article 4, provides that six months after the close of the fiscal year, the county executive will present an annual report on the activities and accomplishments of county government, including the organizational chart and the Comprehensive Annual Financial Statement (CAFR).
“On December 1, 2015, we celebrated one year of Charter Government in Frederick County. Together, we have ensured a smooth transition and delivered good government to our citizens,” stated Executive Gardner. “Our financial outlook is strong and our long-term conservative approach to budgeting and managing county government meets the highest financial standards. Community needs can be met through a sensible and balanced approach to ensure exceptional schools, a safe community and a high quality of life. Working together, our best days are ahead!”
The annual report will be formally presented to the County Council on December 15.
The CAFR, as compiled by the Finance Division, represents the fiscal year ending June 30, 2015. The CAFR is an extensive document presenting various levels of reporting and disclosures regarding financial statements, and includes an audit from SB & Company, LLC, a firm of licensed certified public accountants who provided an independent review of county government. No findings were made in the audit.
