On Thursday, August 8th, the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office will be hosting its annual Open House event at the Frederick County Law Enforcement Center, located at 110 Airport Drive East in Frederick. The event will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and is free and open to the public.
The goal of the Open House is to not only showcase the Sheriff’s Office headquarters, but to welcome the community in for a fun-filled night of interaction with public safety personnel and to provide education and awareness in many areas of interest.
The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office shares the Law Enforcement Center with the Maryland State Police Frederick Barrick and the Frederick County Department of Emergency Communications, who will both be participating in the evening as well.
Attendees will have the opportunity to tour our building, see K-9 demonstrations, and interact with public safety personnel. There will be police vehicles on display, SWAT displays, and a crime scene unit display. The Frederick County Department of Fire and Rescue Services will also be providing fire apparatus for display. Inside the building will be multiple educational table displays from varying county and state agencies as well as units within the Sheriff’s Office. Recruitment opportunities and information will be available from multiple agencies. There will be refreshments and giveaways provided, as well as food concessions.
