Frederick County Sheriff’s Office to Hold Annual Open House

On Thursday, August 8th, the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office will be hosting its annual Open House event at the Frederick County Law Enforcement Center, located at 110 Airport Drive East in Frederick. The event will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and is free and open to the public. As a result of ongoing monitoring of registered sex offenders in Frederick County, the Sheriff’s Office in July has charged the following registered sex offenders with violating conditions associated with being placed on the sex offender registry. Lieutenant Mark Landahl Retires from the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office after 18 Years of Service

Lieutenant Mark Landahl, Ph.D., CEM® retires July 31st, 2019, after 23 years of combined government service, with the last 18 years as a member of the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office. He served in several capacities with the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office, including Homeland Security Commander. In that capacity, Lt. Landahl oversaw all hazards agency preparedness, prevention, protection and liaison to allied local, state and federal agencies. Narcotics Arrest

During the spring of 2019, the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Investigation Section received credible information that an individual was distributing heroin throughout the Frederick County area. As a result, the Narcotics Investigation Section initiated a criminal drug distribution investigation. On June 12th, 2019, a detective with the narcotics section obtained information that this individual traveled to Baltimore to purchase heroin. The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office Proactive Criminal Enforcement Team (PACE) was able to conduct a traffic stop on the individual’s vehicle in the Emmitsburg area for expired vehicle registration.…
