Frederick County Commission for Women Seeks Nominees for Woman of Excellence and Student Leadership
March is Women’s History Month. In celebration, the Frederick County Commission for Women is currently seeking nominees for the 2016 Woman of Excellence and Student Leadership Awards. Individuals must reside in Frederick County to be eligible.
The Woman of Excellence award winner will:
- Demonstrate courage and strength of character.
- Dedicate time and talent toward growth and development of women.
- Contribute as a volunteer, or go “above & beyond” her job responsibilities
- Inspire others, particularly women.
- Work to create a better future for women.
The Student Leadership award winner will:
- Commit to taking on leadership positions that require a significant amount of time, energy, enthusiasm, effort, and thought.
- Make a demonstrable impact on improving the quality of the student experience at her school or in her community.
- Show a commitment to her school and/or community by responding to a specific need or issue and collaborating with others to meet that need.
- Serve as a role model to other students.
Nominations must be submitted by January 26, 2017. Please submit your nomination as a letter of recommendation to CFW@FrederickCountyMD.gov. Award winners will be guests of the Commission and receive their award at the annual Leadership Alliance Dinner to be held on March 23, 2017, at 6 p.m. at Ceresville Mansion in Frederick, MD. The cost of the dinner is $50 per person.
