County Executive Invites Public Input on Preliminary Budget

jangardnerFrederick County Executive Jan Gardner invites citizens to participate in a public hearing to provide input for the FY2017 Operating Budget, 2017-2022 Capital Improvements Program (CIP) and Capital Budget. The hearing is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on December 16 at Winchester Hall, located at 12 East Church Street, Frederick, Maryland.

“I invite our citizens to come to this important public hearing and let me know what their priorities are for the coming year,” County Executive Gardner said. “It is my desire to utilize this session to shape the next budget to reflect the views and values of our community.”

The operating and CIP budget calendars for 2017 each provide for two county executive public hearings. The hearing on December 16 is intended to receive proposals for inclusion in both the operating and CIP budgets. The next public hearing will be held in March 2016 at a date to be announced.

Additionally, the County Council will hold public hearings and workshops on the operating and CIP budgets in May 2016 on dates to be announced.
