Walkersville Middle School Events

Walkersville Middle School is getting ready for the start of a new school year. Student events for the new school year begin this coming week when school administrators and counselors will greet students as they return for an open house. New students will be able to explore the school. All students will pick-up their schedules, purchase locks, and more (see below). The following fundraisers are planned for August to support various activities at Walkersville High School. Band Boosters “dine in night” at Ledo’s Pizza 8/6/15.  11:00 am – 9:00 pm.  Tell them you are with Walkersville High School and 20% of the meal will benefit the school program.  In addition, delivery is also available – FREE  with a $20 order but when placing the order, tell them you are with Walkersville High School.  For additional information, please contact Janel Holland-Linn at janel.holland-linn@nih.gov. New Grades Online Platform

Beginning with the start of the 2015 – 2016 school year, Frederick County Public Schools will provide grades online for grades 6-12 via the eSchoolPLUS “Home Access Center” instead of Pinnacle. Parents and students will be able to log in and view assignments, grades and attendance information. They can also sign up for automatic notifications. Watch for schools to provide further information about access and tips for using the new grades online platform!

TransIT Walkersville Bus Route Changes

To reduce duplicate service, improve on-time service, and provide additional service to downtown Walkersville, TransIT proposes to eliminate the southbound service to Riverbend Way @ Monocacy Boulevard (Wal-Mart) on all trips, Monday through Saturday, and to provide additional service to downtown Walkersville at 11:45 a.m., 1:45, and 3:45 p.m., Monday through Friday, effective Monday, August 3, 2015. TransIT will continue to provide northbound service to Riverbend Way @ Monocacy Blvd. (Wal-Mart) on every trip.
