Carnival Starts TONIGHT!

Volunteers worked through the rain on Saturday and continued on a beautiful Sunday to prepare for the Walkersville Volunteer Fire Company’s Carnival which opens this afternoon! Tonight, enjoy an all-you-can-eat buffet of fried chicken, roast beef, and ham from 4:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the social hall. Kids of all ages will enjoy tonight’s Ride All Night wristband special. Rides open at 6:00 p.m. and run until 10:30 p.m. The Full Effect Band will entertain the crowds all evening! Gas Station Re-Opens

Walkersville gained (or re-gained) a second gas station last week. Now re-branded with Liberty logos, the gas station at Sandstone Drive and MD 194 opened with new pumbs, new tanks, televisions at the pump, and a new convenience store. Ahmed Hudhud purchased the fuel station that had been opened and closed many times under different names last year. The station had been abandoned and the State of Maryland denied fuel deliveries to the station for failures to meet environmental standards. Ride All Night Special

The Walkersville Volunteer Fire Company will offer one last chance to purchase Ride All Night tickets at a huge savings! This Saturday, June 27, 2015, from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. will be the last chance to save more than half of the ticket price. Drone Footage of WSRR Steam Engine

YouTube user Mike Purks posted this fantastic aerial footage of Walkersville Southern Railroad’s Steam Engine this week. Its a great way to see a Glade Valley treasure from a different perspective. While steam engine rides have stopped for this year, the organization’s regular fleet of engines provide service every Saturday through September at 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. They also offer dinner trains and special excursions throughout the year.
