Mike is the publisher and editor of GladeValley.net. After growing up on a farm in Frederick County, Mike moved to Walkersville with his wife to start their family. Since moving to Walkersville, Mike and Emily's three children were born and attend local public schools. Mike also owns Digital Age Solution, an I.T. firm offering Managed Services, Computer Repairs & Sales, Voice Over IP Telephone Service, Networking, and Software Engineering. Mike actively participates in the community in various roles including: Walkersville Planning & Zoning Commission Member, Kaleidoscope 4-H Club Leader, Friends of Walkervsille Library, Vice-President, Frederick County 4-H Camp & Activities Center, Inc. Board Member, Federated Charities, and more.

Local Resident’s Video Leads to Arrests

Dave Cole, a resident of Walkersville, is helping fight crime in Walkersville. For the second time this year, he has assisted the Maryland State Police in identifying criminals breaking into vehicles in his home town. The most recent assist came this Sunday, August 2, 2015. In both instances, Mr. Cole posted videos from his home’s surveillance cameras to his Facebook page. The cameras show two different shots of his driveway. Student events for the new school year begin this coming week when school administrators and counselors will greet students as they return for an open house. New Grades Online Platform

Beginning with the start of the 2015 – 2016 school year, Frederick County Public Schools will provide grades online for grades 6-12 via the eSchoolPLUS “Home Access Center” instead of Pinnacle. Parents and students will be able to log in and view assignments, grades and attendance information. They can also sign up for automatic notifications. Watch for schools to provide further information about access and tips for using the new grades online platform!

TransIT Walkersville Bus Route Changes

To reduce duplicate service, improve on-time service, and provide additional service to downtown Walkersville, TransIT proposes to eliminate the southbound service to Riverbend Way @ Monocacy Boulevard (Wal-Mart) on all trips, Monday through Saturday, and to provide additional service to downtown Walkersville at 11:45 a.m., 1:45, and 3:45 p.m., Monday through Friday, effective Monday, August 3, 2015. TransIT will continue to provide northbound service to Riverbend Way @ Monocacy Blvd. (Wal-Mart) on every trip.
