Since moving to Walkersville, Mike and Emily's three children were born and attend local public schools. Mike also owns Digital Age Solution, an I.T. firm offering Managed Services, Computer Repairs & Sales, Voice Over IP Telephone Service, Networking, and Software Engineering. Mike actively participates in the community in various roles including: Walkersville Planning & Zoning Commission Member, Kaleidoscope 4-H Club Leader, Friends of Walkervsille Library, Vice-President, Frederick County 4-H Camp & Activities Center, Inc. Board Member, Federated Charities, and more.

At 08:22 a.m. on February 22, 2016, Frederick County Emergency Communication Center dispatched units from Walkersville Volunteer Fire and Rescue Companies for a vehicle collision at Maryland Route 26 and Waterside Drive in the City of Frederick. Engine Tanker 114 and Chief 11 arrived on the scene to find multiple vehicles involved in rear-end collisions off to the side of the roadway. One patient remained in a vehicle. Motor Vehicle Accident on Crum Road

At 5:30 a.m. on February 19, 2016, Frederick County Emergency Communications Center dispatched units from Walkersville Volunteer Fire and Rescue Companies for a vehicle accident in the 8400 block of Crum Road in Walkersville. Chief 11-1 arrived on the scene to find one car off the roadway and a patient out of the car. Engine 111 arrived on the scene to check the car for any leaking fluids. Ambulance 247 arrived on the scene to start patient care. Patient refused transport. Units went in service as ready.
