WATER DISCONNECTS

cropped-townseal1.jpgThe Town of Walkersville announced today that water accounts with outstanding balances from the May 1, 2015 billing will be disconnected starting at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, September 23, 2015.

If you have an outstanding balance or are not sure you paid your water bill, you may contact Walkersville Town Hall to make arrangements or inquire as to your billing status.

According to the Town of Walkersville’s web site:

“Water Meters are read on April 1st and October 1st of every year. Bills are mailed May 1st and November 1st. Payment is expected within 30 days of the billing date. Interest accrues at the rate of 1% per month on the outstanding balance. Failure to pay in a timely manner could result in water disconnection. There is a $100 cash reconnection fee during business hours; THERE IS NO AFTER HOURS RECONNECTION.

If you have difficulty paying your bill, please call the Town Office immediately to set up a payment plan. We will work out a payment schedule with you. We require the bill be paid in full before the next billing period.
