To see the magic behind one of the most magical places on earth, Walkersville Theatre heads to Walt Disney World.
During their time in the happiest place on earth, student will be participating in a total of three workshops; one technical and two acting. “Having the experience of going to Disney World and doing workshops, mostly the tech one, it is fun and doing it with friends is even better,” explained junior Ian Marron. “Coming to Disney World has really helped me expand my knowledge and abilities.”
“I’m really excited to do the improv workshop because I think it’s going to be the most interactive out of all three,” said junior Jayla Pollock. One of the other experiences included in the trip is a talk-back (talking with the actors) with the actors of Beauty and the Beast. Pollack excitedly said, “Talking with the actors of Beauty and the Beast is going to be pretty cool too.”
Although the students are able to have unforgettable experiences through the workshops, they are all very excited to have fun in the parks as well. “I really want to go to Animal Kingdom. That’s probably my favorite park and I love all the rides there,” said sophomore Noah Patrick. “I think I’m most excited for Hollywood Studios. I love the rides there and it’s just really fun,” added sophomore Erin Kopit.
With all of the exciting events happening around them, just being in Disney lifts spirits. “I am really excited to do everything because I love Disney. It is my favorite place to be and it makes me so happy. I can never be upset here,” said senior Kylie Andrew.
It is clear that the theatre department is having a great time on their trip to Walt Disney World. From meeting characters of past and future musicals, participating in specialized workshops, and simply enjoying the magic of the parks, Walkersville Theatre is on a field trip they won’t forget.
