Walkersville Invites Bids to Lease Walker Farm
The Town of Walkersville is accepting sealed bids until 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 20, 2016 for the leasing of approximately 200 acres of agricultural land for the planting, growing and harvesting of crops at the Walker Farm located at 8939 Woodsboro Pike, Walkersville, MD. The lease runs from January 1, 2017 to December 31, 2017. The Burgess and Commissioners of Walkersville reserves the right, at its sole option, to renew the lease for an additional 5 years on a year to year basis with same price and conditions.
A bid form and a copy of the lease are available at Town Hall and by calling 301-845-4500 or download 2016 CASH LEASE OF FARM LAND BID FORM. Sealed bids with a per acre price must arrive at Walkersville Town Hall, 21 W. Frederick St., PO Box 249, Walkersville, MD 21793, clearly labeled “Farm Lease” by 2:00 pm, Wednesday, April 20, 2016. This solicitation and acceptance of bids does not obligate the Town of Walkersville in any way to enter into a lease agreement.
The Town of Walkersville will enter into a lease agreement with the bidder that the Town deems as most advantageous. The Burgess and Commissioner of Walkersville will be the sole judge of what qualifies as the most advantageous. The Town of Walkersville reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
