All students at Walkersville have important goals to achieve before the end of their high school career. Seniors in particular are counting down the days until graduation. What are their plans you may ask? I had the opportunity to talk to senior Ian Pedersen. Maybe you haven’t gotten to talk to him, but I got to and this is the conversation we had.

Q: What are your plans for after high school?

A: I want to go to BYU (Brigham Young University) to get a bachelor in science and biology then go to grad school after that and become a physician’s assistant while I’m there, work as an EMT.

Q: What are you looking forward to most about graduation?

A: I’m excited to be done with high school and go out into the world and learn about things that interest me and I want to learn about.

Q: What is your favorite high school memory?

A: Playing track and field and rugby.

Q: Where do you see yourself five years from now?

A: Starting grad school and maybe be married. I want to do an awesome job and start a family.

I had a really great time talking to Pedersen and finding out what his future plans are. After talking with Pedersen, I went and asked one of his teachers and one of his peers a few questions regarding Ian.

Senior Brooke Shortt said “I had statistics with Ian and he was very quiet and always seemed focused on the class and less on the social aspect.” Shortt then added “when Ian does talk he is really funny and nice. He has a great personality.”

After talking to Brooke Shortt I went and talked to teacher Jason Lepeonka and he said “I enjoy having every student in my class.” I asked  Lepeonka if he had any fun memories with Ian and he said “It’s very hard to limit just one memory, in class I enjoy all 90 minutes with my students.”

Pedersen has very big plans for his future and learning about them was very interesting. Hopefully he can accomplish everything he plans on in his future!
