Storms Knock Out Power Again
Storms swept through the area again Sunday night. Potomac Edison reports over two-thousand customers without power. Crews have arrived to restore power. The storms come just a day after some residents had their power restored. Unfortunately, many who were without power for days seem to be the same customers without power again.

Another line of storms is headed towards Glade Valley. Power crews are still trying to restore power to over 1600 homes and businesses in our area. Some may not get power until Saturday. To make matters worse, a line of power storms currently bear down on our area again.

A very fast and furious storm ripped through the area with winds exceeding 60 miles per hour, lightning, and heavy rain. Temperatures dropped twenty degrees in a matter of minutes. Some witnesses claimed to see a tornado. Trees were torn apart and toppled. Power lines and communications were down all over Frederick County. At 10 p.m., Potomac Edison reported as many as 3,100 customers without power in Glade Valley. Comcast estimated customers may be without service until midmorning Wednesday.

Due to the weather, the Walkersville Volunteer Fire Company has decided to postpone their fireworks until Saturday, July 5th at 10:00 p.m. The carnival is still taking place, but the fireworks will not be set off tonight. Tomorrow night, the carnival offers another Ride-All-Night for One Price Special!
