Softball Team Offers Paint Night As a Chance to Explore Your Artistic Side for a Good Cause
by Christina Huffer
Paint Night is a fundraiser being hosted by the Walkersville High School softball program on February 16th at 6:30 pm. Varsity Head Coach Erinne Warrenfeltz was the one who organized this fundraiser. Being artistic herself she thought that the players and students would enjoy the difficult task, and enjoy having something different to be able to do.
“I chose paint night because it’s something that not many other, actually [I don’t] think any other team has chosen to do as a fundraiser. Paint night would be fun to attend because the participants and players can socialize chime into their creative side, and part of the proceeds will go to the softball program,” Warrenfeltz said.
“No other team in the school has done something like this and ticket sales are going great. I am very excited to how this is going to turn out. I am very excited to be able to go to a paint night; I have never been,” explained Assistant Athletic Director Susan Pardo.
No matter how much experience you have with art, the instructor is there to make sure that you have the best the piece of artwork! Some of the softball players are excited to be able to chime into their artistic side!
“I want to go to paint night to find my calling, but in all honesty I want to help out my team so we have better materials for the field,” said sophomore Mirandy Bomysoad.
“I want to go to paint night to help raise money for the team. I like painting, and would like to find ways to become better,” commented sophomore Holly Haught.
Students, players, and even teachers are so excited for this. Come out, and help raise money so that the softball players can have a great season!
