The Planning Commission will meet on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at 7 p.m. on the second floor of the Town Office.
The Planning Commission will continue discussions on updating the Town’s Comprehensive Plan. Specifically, they will get an overview of the process and draft chapters and maps.
This overview comes after a shuffle of membership on the Planning Commission. Town Commission Michael McNiesh had recently been appointed as the liaison of the Town Commissioners, but was removed after Burgess Chad Weddle discovered that the appointment was not voted upon by the Town Commissioners. In his place, Commissioner Gary Baker was appointed. Commissioner Baker served in this capacity during his previous tenure as a Town Commissioner.
Zachary Baldwin was also appointed to the Planning Commission last month by the Burgess and Town Commissioners. Mr. Baldwin was to take the seat that was previously held by Michelle Doster, whose term expired earlier this year. Between Mr. Baldwin’s appointment and this, his first meeting as a member of the Planning Commission, he has declined the appointment.
A new appointment is scheduled to be made during the Town’s next meeting on Wednesday, March 23, 2022.
The meeting is open to the public, and will be live streamed on the Town of Walkersville’s website. Masks are optional.
