New Assistant Principals at Walkersville High School

Hello Lion Community!

I would like to introduce our 2 new Assistant Principals joining the Lion Admin Team!
I am very excited about their arrival and welcome them to such a wonderful school and community.

Mr. Greg Keller comes to Lion Country with a wealth of experience and knowledge with over 15 years of administrative experience. He has served as an Assistant Principal at Middletown, Tuscarora and Linganore High School. Prior to becoming an Assistant Principal in the county, he started his career as a social studies teacher, which included time here at WHS. To add even more clout to his reputation he was a 1990 Walkersville High School graduate, so there will be no problem with his Blue and Gold loyalty! As we like to say here at WHS, Once a Lion Always a Lion!

Mr. Keller is married with 3 children and enjoys coaching and hunting in his spare time. He is dedicated to his family and takes incredible pride in his work. His major duties include FCC Dual Enrollment, Supervision of Athletics and Supervision of the Math, Physical Education, and English departments. He will be working with students last name A-G.

Mrs. Cindy Johnson comes to our small town from Arizona and was raised in Southern California. She earned her undergraduate degree in Political Science at Texas A and M University, where she also was a scholarship swimmer. She went on to earn multiple graduate degrees and certifications from various western universities, including Administrator Training and Certification. She has taught social studies at the high school level and coached swimming for many years. One of her most recent experiences was serving as Principal at a small alternative high school in Arizona.

Mrs. Johnson and her family, including her husband and two children, moved to Frederick County last year. She enjoys walking her dogs, watching her kids play sports, being outside and meeting all the friendly faces of our community. Although not native to Lion Country, she is looking forward to meeting our students and staff and helping in the community any way she can. She is already sporting a number of WHS T-Shirts, and royal blue certainly is a good color for her!

Her major responsibilities include Supervision of H.S.A., PARCC and PSAT testing, Supervision of Building Maintenance and Facilities including our magnificent custodial staff, administrative liaison to our Band Boosters, and Supervision of the World Languages, Social Studies, and Visual and Performing Arts departments. She will be working with students last name O-Z.
