Kaleidoscope 4-H Club Cleans Up Mt. Pleasant Ruritan
Every June, the members of Kaleidoscope 4-H Club gather to help members of the Mt. Pleasant Ruritan with some spring cleaning.
For many years, the 4-H members cleaned the flower beds and put down mulch donated by Poole Landscaping.
The year and last, they cleaned all of the chairs and tables. Members of the Ruritan brought out tables and chairs. The 4-H members emptied all of the chair and table carts. They removed gum, tape, and stickers from the bottoms of the furniture before scrubbing each table and chair with soap and water.
While the tables and chairs dried, the Mt. Pleasant Ruritan provided a dinner, drinks and cookies for all of the volunteers and 4-H Club members. They held a brief meeting, and everyone went back to work drying, stacking, and taking the tables and chairs back into the building.
Seventeen Kaleidsocope 4-H Club members and volunteers spent nearly three hours contributing to the Mt. Pleasant Ruritan’s clean-up. It is just one of the many community service, recreational, and educational activities provided by the 4-H club.
Kaleidoscope 4-H Club usually meets at the Mt. Pleasant Ruritan on the third Monday of the month October through May. Meetings begin at 6:30 p.m. where members participate in a business meeting, enjoy demonstrations by fellow members, a recreational activity, and snacks. For more information, visit their web site.
