Hogan Announces More Openings
Governor Larry Hogan announced the continued improvement in measures used to track COVID-19 in the State of Maryland. As a result, Governor Hogan announced that he is lifting the following restrictions over the next week and a half.
Beginning Friday, June 12, 2020 at 5 p.m.:
- Indoor Dining at restaurants may open with the following restrictions:
- Table Dining Only,
- 50% capacity,
- Physical Distancing, and
- Strict Public Health Requirements.
- Graduation ceremonies may take place with the following restrictions:
- Outdoor Ceremonies Only
- Appropriate Capacity and Distancing Measures In Place.
- The following Outdoor Activities may resume:
- Outdoor Amusements and Rides,
- Mini-Golf and Go-Kart Tracks,
- Outdoor pool capacity increased to 50%
Next Friday, June 19, 2020, the following may open:
- Indoor Gyms
- Indoor Studio Fitness Activities
- Casinos
- Arcades
- Malls
Governor Hogan stressed that the fight against COVID-19 is not over. He praised Marylanders for their efforts to “crush the curve” and reminded all to continue social distancing, wearing face masks, teleworking, and staying home to stay safer.
Governor Hogan also addressed the weeks of unrest in response to the killing of George Floyd by Minneapolis Police. While Hogan expressed understanding for the protests, he and his team worry about the lack of social distancing and gatherings of more than ten people. He urged all who have participated in protests to get tested for COVID-19. Hogan reiterated that testing is available for all Maryland residents with no out-of-pocket costs.
