Halloween – Trick or Treating Postponed or Not?

A lot of folks are asking if Trick or Treating is postponed due to the weather forecast for Halloween. At this writing, our partners at Weather Underground (which uses our local weather station for more accurate conditions and forecasts) predicts a 76% – 100% chance of strong storms during Trick or Treating.

People are messaging us, calling Town Hall, and posting on social media. Even school teachers are spreading information that may not pertain to your neighborhood.

To clarify, the Town of Walkersville does not schedule Trick or Treating. They posted a notice to that effect on their Facebook Page.

The Town of Woodsboro has not posted any announcement regarding Trick or Treating being rescheduled. Woodsboro does officially list Trick or Treating on its web site as being on Halloween from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Neighborhoods and Home Owners Associations schedule Trick or Treating.

That has made for more confusion, because some HOAs are deferring to the Town of Walkersville. Sun Meadow stated in comments to a post that they will defer to the Town that they do not set date and times for Trick or Treating.

Meanwhile, one of Sun Meadow’s biggest draws during Halloween, Bedrock Cemetery, posted that they will be handing out candy on Halloween from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Deerfield announced on their Facebook Page that Trick or Treating will be postponed to Friday, November 1, 2019 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Other communities do not have an official presence that we could find online. As always, GladeValley.net is happy to share any community announcements, news, and information. Anyone can contact us through our web site, social media, phone, or mail.
