First Due Box
At 8:42 p.m. on January 17, 2018 Walkersville Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched for an AFA (automatic fire alarm) at Walkersville High School. As units went on scene, school personnel advised there was heavy smoke in the hallway. Quint 11 advised Emergency Communications Center to fill the box and found heavy smoke conditions in the hall.
The crews made quick entry and found that the smoke was coming from a floor cleaning machine. The crews put the fire out with fire extinguisher and placed the box in service as the fire was out. Crews operated for 30-45 minutes to help ventilate the gym and hallway.
