Esther Evangeline Laliberte Filler

Esther Evangeline Laliberte Filler, 86, of Walkersville, Maryland, passed from this life on Sunday, March 3, 2019 at Homewood at Crumland Farms in Frederick, MD.

Born on March 26, 1932, in Old Town, ME, she was the daughter of the late Archie Joseph Laliberte and Ina Mae (Richardson) Laliberte.

She was predeceased by her husband, Melvin on August 7, 2016. They enjoyed a loving marriage of 62 years.

Esther graduated from Old Town High School (Class of 1950). She joined the Air Force where she served as cryptographer. After discharge from the Air Force, and moving to Walkersville, she went to work at Fort Detrick retiring after 34 years of civilian service. 

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a brother, Adrian.

She is survived by a sister, Margaret McCann; brother, Alphonse Laliberte and wife Alveine, all of Maine; nephew, Charles Edward Covell of Walkersville. She is also survived by nieces and nephews in the New England area, and many devoted cousins in the Maryland/Virginia area.

A celebration of Esther’s life journey will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 5, 2019 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 40 Fulton Avenue in Walkersville, MD. Pastor Ron Schlak will officiate. Interment will be private.
