The number of new cases of COVID-19 in Frederick County rose substantially over the weekend, reaching daily levels not seen for several months. On the evening of Friday, September 11, 2020, Frederick County Sheriff’s Office detectives arrested Jordan Hooks, 27, of Frederick and charged him with 1st Degree Murder for the homicide of Mr. Jaemari Anderson that occurred on September 6, 2020. County Executive Jan Gardner provided an update on the County’s battle against COVID-19. While Frederick County flattened the curve by shutting down early in the pandemic, Frederick County now faces the challenge of keeping the rate of infection down.
