Mr. Robert C. Read, 91, of Woodsboro, formerly of Walkersville, died on June 22 at his residence. Born on November 28, 1925 in Washington, DC, he was the son of the late Ernest Read and Florence (Gude) Read. Mr. Read was the owner of E.J. Read & Sons, Inc. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1943 to 1946. Robert was an avid golfer and was President of the Anacostia Lions Club from 1961-1962. Dr. David James Munroe, of Walkersville, passed away on Wednesday June 14th at the age of 60, He grew up in Medfield, Massachusetts and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from the University of Massachusetts where he competed on the football team. He received his doctorate in Genomics from the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester and completed his post-doctoral fellowship at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
