Community Members Plan Graduation Celebration

A group of community members plan to hold a Community Celebration for the Walkersville High School Seniors on June 3, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. around the pond at 11009 Bennie Duncan Road, Frederick, MD 21701 which is actually just east of Walkersville. Seniors will be in cap and gown with family groups of less than ten people. FCPS Announces Graduation Plans: Virtual Ceremonies to Honor the Class of 2020

“The Class of 2020 is among the groups of heroes deserving celebration for sacrifices made during the COVID-19 pandemic,” says Frederick County Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Terry Alban. FCPS Moves Principals and Assistant Principals

Some schools in Walkersville and around Frederick County will see a shake up of leadership over the summer. Frederick County Public Schools announced several principal and assistant principal appointments, effective July 1. According to a press release, personnel appointments remain subject to change based on the evolving needs of the school system. Mr. Stephen Raff will take the reins at Glade Elementary School. Walkersville High School Begins to Celebrate Graduating Class During COVID-19

The COVID-19 pandemic won’t stop Walkersville High School from celebrating its graduating class. Walkersville High School Principal Tracey Kibler and her staff continue to work diligently to keep students on track. While schools were abruptly closed in March and students switched to distance learning, it meant the cancellation of many rites that students expect as seniors. No prom. No awards ceremonies.
