Benefit Concert for Library on Walkersville Days

Local singer-songwriter, Mike Kuster will be performing a benefit concert for the Walkersville Library with his band, The Catoctin Cowboys, during Walkersville Days this weekend.

The Walkersville Library is raising funds to make improvements to their outdoor learning areas. They have set a goal to raise enough funds to erect shade sails to cut down on the heat and sun on the lawn. The library hosts a lot of educational activities for all ages both inside and outside of their building.

Mike Kuster, a Walkersville resident, released his debut album, Better Late Than Never, in 2022 to critical acclaim. The album, featuring multiple #1 singles and IMN’s Country Song of 2021, was named by multiple critics, including Saving Country Music, as an Essential Country Album of 2022.

Kuster will be releasing a second album next month on June 9, 2023. The first three songs released from the album have been met with great responses from critics and listeners. The first release, “What If She Says Yes”, is currently #14 on the Europe’s Country HotDisc Top 40 Chart, and #28 on The Fan Voted Chart. The song released to U.S. Country Radio stations last week.

Mike Kuster and The Catoctin Cowboys will take “stage” on the back lawn of the library at 6:00 p.m. and play until 8:00 p.m. In case of rain, the library plans to move the show inside the library.
