Since moving to Walkersville, Mike and Emily's three children were born and attend local public schools. Mike also owns Digital Age Solution, an I.T. firm offering Managed Services, Computer Repairs & Sales, Voice Over IP Telephone Service, Networking, and Software Engineering. Mike actively participates in the community in various roles including: Walkersville Planning & Zoning Commission Member, Kaleidoscope 4-H Club Leader, Friends of Walkervsille Library, Vice-President, Frederick County 4-H Camp & Activities Center, Inc. Commercial and Industrial Business Tax Credit

Ethics Board Changes in Walkersville

During the July 8, 2015 meeting of the Town of Walkersville’s Burgess and Commissioners, the Ethics Board received a lot of attention. One member, Tarolyn Thrasher, stepped down from the Ethics Board. She no longer lives in Walkersville. Burgess Ralph Whitmore nominated Ron Layman, a longtime resident who operated a painting business in town. The Commissioners unanimously approved of the appointment. Public Meeting on Crime in Walkersville

In response to discussions Commissioner Chad Weddle had as council and treasurer of Glade United Church of Christ, the Town Commissioners voted to invite the public to meet with the Town Commissioners and the Maryland State Police Resident Troopers at a meeting in August. Commissioner Weddle communicated with residents in his role with the church about some concerns with rental properties. Walkersville Raises Water Rates

The Town of Walkersville Commissioners voted this evening to increase water rates across the board. Town Manager Gloria Long Rollins presented the board with ten different choices for increasing the rates. The proposals showed increased revenues ranging from $62,049.22 all the way to $105,242.18. Burgess Ralph Whitmore solicited input from a larger than average audience at Town Hall. No one rose to speak for or against the plans presented.
