Since moving to Walkersville, Mike and Emily's three children were born and attend local public schools. Mike also owns Digital Age Solution, an I.T. firm offering Managed Services, Computer Repairs & Sales, Voice Over IP Telephone Service, Networking, and Software Engineering. Mike actively participates in the community in various roles including: Walkersville Planning & Zoning Commission Member, Kaleidoscope 4-H Club Leader, Friends of Walkervsille Library, Vice-President, Frederick County 4-H Camp & Activities Center, Inc. Walkersville High School won Startup Frederick “Shark Tank”-like student competition: Jarvis Cain, Keanu Rosa, and Rayel Wright….. Their $2,000 prize-winning project is called Ethereal. Students from every public high school in Frederick County tested their business ideas in the competition modeled on the TV show “Shark Tank.” Startup Frederick, designed through a partnership between the Frederick County Chamber of Commerce and Frederick County Public Schools, is the first competition of its kind in Frederick County. Frederick County Public Schools announces winners in the 35th annual Frederick County Science and Engineering Fair, hosted at Tuscarora High last Saturday, April 2. Earning the grand prize were Middletown High School students Richard Derr and Frederika Rentzeperis for their project, “Differential Rotation As an Explanation for Saturn’s B-Field Periodicity.” They will represent Frederick County at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) in Phoenix, Arizona, next month.
