Since moving to Walkersville, Mike and Emily's three children were born and attend local public schools. Mike also owns Digital Age Solution, an I.T. firm offering Managed Services, Computer Repairs & Sales, Voice Over IP Telephone Service, Networking, and Software Engineering. Mike actively participates in the community in various roles including: Walkersville Planning & Zoning Commission Member, Kaleidoscope 4-H Club Leader, Friends of Walkervsille Library, Vice-President, Frederick County 4-H Camp & Activities Center, Inc. Board Member, Federated Charities, and more.

Student Caught with BB Gun at Walkersville Football Game

During Friday night’s season opener at Walkersville High School, a student showed a small group of students an Airsoft BB gun while the stadium was evacuated because of lightning. Walkersville High School Principal Tracey Kibler, released a statement this evening to the public. According to Kibler, “Law enforcement and administrators responded to this incident quickly and appropriately; there will be appropriate disciplinary consequences.” The principal urges the community to “remind students that weapons of any kind, including toys and look-alikes, are prohibited on school property and at all school events.”

Paving, Blasting, and Storm Water Dominate Town Meeting

Shortly after dedicating Richard Winn Lane, Town of Walkersville officials met at Town Hall on Wednesday, August 22, 2018. Town Commissioners voted to approve a quote of $38,308 from C.J. Miller to pave Pennsylvania Drive, the gravel area at the Walkersville Train Station, and Biggs Ford Road in front of Lonza. Commissioner Mary Ann Brodie-Ennis questioned spending money on paving at the train station, and asked if it is town property. Richard Winn Lane Dedicated Opening Thursday Morning

A group of approximately thirty people gathered Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at the intersection of Stauffer Court and Richard Winn Lane in Walkersville to dedicate the road in memory of former Burgess Richard Winn. Burgess Chad Weddle spoke about Richard Winn’s service to the town, Walkersville United Methodist Church, and the community as an educator, Town Commissioner, Burgess, and town employee.
