Since moving to Walkersville, Mike and Emily's three children were born and attend local public schools. Mike also owns Digital Age Solution, an I.T. firm offering Managed Services, Computer Repairs & Sales, Voice Over IP Telephone Service, Networking, and Software Engineering. Mike actively participates in the community in various roles including: Walkersville Planning & Zoning Commission Member, Kaleidoscope 4-H Club Leader, Friends of Walkervsille Library, Vice-President, Frederick County 4-H Camp & Activities Center, Inc. Board Member, Federated Charities, and more.

Walkersville Rings in the Holiday Season

The largest crowd ever turned out for Walkersville’s Tree Lighting Ceremony in Creamery Park last night. Children played in the park and some gathered around fires to keep warm while local church and community group choirs filled the air with Christmas songs. A shofar, an ancient musical horn typically made of a ram’s horn used for Jewish religious purposes, was blown during the ceremony in celebration of Hanukkah. Shooting on Treasure Avenue in Discovery

On Wednesday evening, December 5th, 2018, at approximately 10:30 p.m., Frederick County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the 8000 block of Treasure Avenue in Walkersville for a report of a shooting that had just occurred. Upon arrival, deputies found a 20 year old male with a gunshot wound to his rear upper thigh area. The victim was confronted outside of his residence and subsequently shot. Emergency Medical Services units arrived and treated the victim at the scene. The victim was then transported via helicopter to Shock Trauma in Baltimore. The…

Walkersville Veterans Day Service

The Town of Walkersville honored Veterans today during its Annual Veterans Day Services. The service was held at Memorial Park on Five Corners in Walkersville. A large crowd gathered to show appreciation for the service of veterans to our country. The Yellow Springs Band provided patriotic music during the service which included speakers and the unveiling of a new section of the town’s Veterans Wall Memorial. photos by Kate Kuster

Scouting for Food Drive

Scouting for Food drive is Saturday, Nov 10. Please support the Food Bank by participating. Scouts left cards on front doors on Nov 3, and will return to pick up filled bags for the Food Bank on Saturday, Nov 10. Please have bags outside by 9:00 am. There are not enough Scouts to cover every neighborhood in our growing community.
