Since moving to Walkersville, Mike and Emily's three children were born and attend local public schools. Mike also owns Digital Age Solution, an I.T. firm offering Managed Services, Computer Repairs & Sales, Voice Over IP Telephone Service, Networking, and Software Engineering. Mike actively participates in the community in various roles including: Walkersville Planning & Zoning Commission Member, Kaleidoscope 4-H Club Leader, Friends of Walkervsille Library, Vice-President, Frederick County 4-H Camp & Activities Center, Inc. Vote for the Snallygaster to Support Glade Valley Community Services

Glade Valley Community Services asks the community to vote for the Snallygaster, a Viking-themed sailboat floating on Carroll Creek in downtown Frederick. The Snallygaster is part of the “Sailing Through the Winter Solstice” fundraiser by the Color on the Creek charity organization. There are ten boats floating on the creek and two on land; all are lit up at night, and make a beautiful sight. A visit to Carroll Creek is a great family activity! Korean War Veterans Memorial Gift to Fund

Representatives from the Korean War Veterans Memorial, Inc. presented a $10,000 gift to The Col. William E. Weber Chapter 142 Korean War Veterans Association of Frederick County, Maryland, Fund. The fund, one of more than 700 funds managed by The Community Foundation of Frederick County, provides scholarships to students who are direct bloodline descendants of those who served in the United States military and who are eligible for Korean War Veterans Association membership. Ann R. Pyne, age 89, of Walkersville, Maryland, passed from this life on Sunday, December 9, 2018 at Buckingham’s Choice in Adamstown. She was the wife of The Rev. Frederick W. Pyne who died on March 17, 2016. They were married 64 years. Born June 8, 1929, in Grand Rapids, MI, she was the adopted daughter of Jack Albert and Irlby Jo Rammes. Suspects Identified in Series of Commercial Thefts and Burglaries

Beginning in October 2018, detectives from the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office began investigating several related property crimes; a commercial burglary near Adamstown in which property was stolen and damaged, a theft from commercial vehicles in which the vehicles were damaged and several thousand dollars of frozen food was stolen near Jefferson, and a theft of tools and a trailer from a business in Urbana. Fraud Charges Issued in Identity Theft Case

On July 24th, 2018, Detective Bird of the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office was assigned a fraud investigation. The victim, who lives in Frederick County, had their identity stolen and fraudulent charges were made on their bank account in excess of $16,000. Through the assistance of allied agencies, Detective Bird was able to identify the suspect as Edgar Lopez Mercado of Bronx, New York. Lopez Mercado entered a branch of the victim’s bank in New Jersey, falsely identified himself as the victim, and was subsequently issued a new debit card for the victim’s account.
