New Sheetz Opening Next Week – Gas Sales Halting Temporarily
Construction crews continue working to put the finishing touches on the new Sheetz store in Walkersville, but an occupancy permit has been issued. Last week, a Sheetz representative informed the Walkersville Planning Commission that they will open their new store on June 8, 2017.
“Because we are doing this in phases, the drive-thru and car wash will not open yet,” he explained. Those amenities will open in the weeks following the stores opening.
Shortly after the new store opens, the old store and the fuel pumps will be removed. Their removal makes way for new fueling stations on the site. During the demolition and reconstruction, the Walkersville Sheetz will not be selling fuel. Sheetz representatives anticipated fuel sales at the new fuel stations to begin in mid-August.
