MVA With Entrapment And MCI On RT15
At 7:50 a.m. on January 17, 2018, Frederick County Emergency Communication Center (ECC) dispatched Walkersville Volunteer Fire and Rescue Companies for a motor vehicle collision with entrapment near the instersection of U.S. 15 and Biggs Ford Road. While units were en-route ECC advised Chief 11-1 that there were multiple patients and entrapment in both vehicles. With that info Chief 11-1 requested a second squad.
Medic 2 arrived on the scene to find two vehicles involved. One vehicle was off the road and on its side with one patient trapped. Medic 2 advised ECC to start the EMS task force and aviation due to the number of patients.
Chief 11-1 arrived on the scene to established command, and soon passed to command to Battalion Chief 902.
Both trapped patients were extricated and transported. All patients were transported and units cleared as ready and command was terminated.
