WVFC WELCOMES Daytime Staffing

Mills Custom Wood Floors

Walkersville Volunteer Fire Company is very proud and excited to announce the addition of daytime career staffing to our previously all-volunteer company.

Our main goal, first and foremost, is always to keep the town of Walkersville (and the surrounding area) the safest we possibly can. The majority of our volunteers have their own jobs during the day, which leaves our station largely understaffed during those daytime hours.
The Walkersville community has grown exponentially since our incorporation as a Fire Company in 1939 and after 81 years as an all-volunteer company, we knew it was time to fill this void for the people of our town.

From now on, we’ll have an amazing crew from DFRS here Monday through Friday from 6am until 6pm – along with our volunteers who serve 24/7. Together, we’ll provide the best possible service we can to the Walkersville area. We are very excited for this partnership with Frederick County (MD) Fire & Rescue.
