WMS Leo Club Hosts “Dinner in the Dark” Fundraiser for Leader Dogs for the Blind
The Walkersville Middle School Leo Club will host a charity event called Dinner In The Dark on June 9th at the Fire Hall Activities Building. Leiter’s will cater this event so you know the meal will be great. Leos is a service club that focuses on community service and helping the Blind.
Participants will be greeted and have snacks and check out the silent auction items. When dinner is ready guests will be blindfolded and escorted gently to their seats. One sighted adult and one Leo will serve meals and assist their table. After dinner you will hear about Leader Dogs by a special speaker and their dog. You will also meet Shacha our Leader Dog in training.
This exercise is designed for sighted guests to have a glimpse into low vision or blindness. All profits will be given to Leader Dogs for the Blind.
Please help these Leos and their sponsoring organization, the Glade Valley Lions Club raise $2,000 for Leader Dog.
Tickets for unsighted guests are $50 and for sighted guests are $60. This is an event that you have ‘never seen before’. Information and forms are on Dinner In The Dark- events or comment online and we will get back to you within 24 hours.
