Walkersville Planning Commission Updating

The Walkersville Planning Commission will meet Tuesday evening for its monthly workshop.
The Planning Commission voted last month to update the Town’s Design Manual. This workshop will begin discussions to update the Design Manual.
The Design Manual guides developers on meeting the expectations of the town. During its review of site plans for two planned developments, members of the Planning Commission questioned the outdated lighting standards. Members discussed adopting standards with LED lighting to save energy for the Town of Walkersville, and making sure everything else is up to date.
The workshop will be the first for a new member, and second for new officers. Ray Santullo, who previously served on the Walkersville Board of Appeals, was recently appointed to the Planning Commission by the Burgess and Town Commissioners. Mr. Santullo fills the vacancy left by longtime member and former chair, Lin Snider, who retired last month. The Planning Commission elected Dick Brady as its new chair and David Ennis as its new vice-chair. Town Commissioner Gary Baker also recently joined the Planning Commission replacing Commissioner Russ Winch, who had served on the Planning Commission for many years.
