Susan Long

Susan Denise Long, age 66, of Woodsboro, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at Glade Valley Center, Walkersville. Born June 17, 1951 in Frederick, she was the daughter of Lucille Blank Keyser of Yellow Springs and the late Alton R. Keyser. She was the wife of Gary W. Long, her husband of 33 years.

Mrs. Long was a 1969 graduate of Gov. Thomas Johnson High School. She was employed as a customer service rep with Wells Fargo on Monocacy Blvd. prior to her retirement. She was a member of Oak Hill Church of God, Legore and the auxiliary of the Glen W. Eyler American Legion Post of Woodsboro. She enjoyed shopping, singing and dancing, laughing with her friends, going to the beach, attending church with her strong faith in God and being with her little dog Bindi who will miss her greatly.

In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by daughters, Candy McDonald and Bryan Laumann of Mountaindale, Holly McDonald of Frederick and Courtenay Melvin of Charleston, SC; stepdaughter, Amber Long of Woodsboro; 4 grandchildren; sisters, Sandra Shoemaker and husband Donald of Walkersville, Vickie Myers and husband David of Boonsboro and Kathy Camblin of Martinsburg, WV; brothers, Rodney Keyser and Randy Keyser and wife Loretta, all of Yellow Springs and Jeffrey Keyser and wife Christine of Thurmont. She will also be remembered by her best friends Janice Capino and husband Roy; and Karen Jackman.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 31 at Hartzler Funeral Home, 404 S. Main St., Woodsboro. Interment will follow in Rocky Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, August 30.
