Pearl Eleanor Renner
Pearl Eleanora Renner, age 87, of Ladiesburg, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at Frederick Memorial Hospital.
Born August 19, 1930 in Deerfield, MD, she was the daughter of the late Charles Allen and Hilda May Arnsberger Brown. She was the wife of the late Roland Samuel Renner Sr., who died in 1998.
Mrs. Renner was a member of Monocacy Church of the Brethren, Rocky Ridge and had also attended Thurmont Church of the Brethren. She was a member of AMVETS Post 7 and American Legion Post 168, both of Thurmont.
Her greatest enjoyment was having children and family around her. She was Mom and Grandma to ALL. She enjoyed flowers, making quilts, cooking, puzzle books, traveling with her daughters and granddaughter, listening to the “In Memory Of” show every Sunday on WTHU and watching the birds eat from all of her birdhouses. She also loved country, bluegrass and gospel music and dancing, especially to the Hat Creek Country band.
Surviving are children, Donna J. Ritchie and husband Scott of Keymar, Eleanor M. Putman and husband Roy and Roland S. Renner and wife Gail, all of Thurmont, Joseph A. Renner and wife Cathy of Ladiesburg; 23 grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; special niece, Dottie Phebus; and numerous other nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by sons, Franklin E. Renner Sr. and David C. Renner Sr.; granddaughter, Rhonda Ritchie; sister, Agnes Grimes; and brothers, Charles, Robert, David, Paul, Harold and Donald Brown.
The family will receive friends at Hartzler Funeral Home, 404 S. Main St., Woodsboro on Sunday, October 8 from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.
A funeral service will be held at Monocacy Church of the Brethren, 13517 Motter Station Rd., Rocky Ridge, at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 9, with Pastors Tracy Wiser, Bill Cuputo and Linda Lambert, officiating. Interment will follow in Monocacy Church of the Brethren Cemetery.
