Furman L. “Panky” Sparkman, age 69, of Woodsboro, died Monday, March 19, 2018 at his home.
Born October 22, 1948 in Cumberland, KY, he was the son of the late Bruce and Hazel Blair Sparkman.
Mr. Sparkman was a graduate of Walkersville High School. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War, stationed in Germany. He worked in construction in the Frederick area, retiring in 2010. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved playing horseshoes.
Surviving are daughters, Michelle Dinterman and husband, Dave of Woodsboro and Karen Cucina of Emmitsburg; son, Charles “Chuck” Cucina of Ladiesburg; grandchildren, Stephanie, Alissa, Julie, Chelsea, Haley and Abby; great-grandchildren, Natalie, Noah, Connor and Everly; and siblings, Douglas Sparkman and wife Shirley, Zelda Tracey and husband Jerry, Annie Dow, Harrison Sparkman, Onnie Harding and Gaither Sparkman and wife Nancy.
The family will receive friends at Hartzler Funeral Home, 404 S. Main St., Woodsboro on Thursday, March 22 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, March 23 at 1 p.m.
